The cnc machine
From cutting to attempted production
Realized a few key things with foam. You can get the first release of wax out. It took a bit of effort and slightly messed up the mold. It caused the second pour of it be so gummed into the material it was impossible to get out.
Learned that the orientation on the x y z planes is super important to have right before it is in fusion.
It's such a pain in the but to fix an anything but rhino
Something obvious that we should have known as well. Is we should have used uncapped surfaces. -a silly mistake.
And we could have saved a step with mold making if he had something we could have poured plaster right over to make a mold. Save the hassle of losing our foam piece.
We did the pass over the foam at .5mm
It worked really well. In total out total time took 1 hr 36.
-placing our cut as close to the top as possible helped in time.
And reducing how much clearance the bit needed really sped it up.
The plan was to cast it in glass..
But had some issues (sorry jullian it was totally my fault.)
